Although Taurean Nixon is a senior defensive back at Southern Lab, he's not your typical football player. While most players have their hands full with a playbook, Nixon has had his hands full tying ribbons.
Nixon's life has been inspired by his Kindergarten Teach at Southern Lab, Ms. Josie Tyson. Ms Tyson passed away this past June of cancer. From that point on, Nixon has made it his mission to impact others through raising awareness for breast cancer. He's spent hours making ribbons to sell at one of his football games.
He's also the SGA president, a mentor and captain of his football team. The 4.0 student has encouraged his fellow teammates to push themselves in the classroom. Now 30 plus players have made the honor roll.
Each day he works to make an impact on others.
