Target practice by three individuals causes school lockdowns
DEQUINCY, La. - Target practice by two juveniles and an adult behind a DeQuincy apartment building led to lockdowns at two nearby schools.
Police Chief Mike Suchanek says police heard gunshots about 11:20 a.m. Friday.
He says the officers arrested two people who had been shooting a 9mm handgun, and called a lockdown because the third ran away.
Suchanek says that the third person was arrested about 15 minutes later, and the lockdown lasted less than an hour.
