Tangipahoa Parish opens warming shelters
TANGIPAHOA- The current winter storm, along with the probability of wide spread power outages, has caused officials in Tangipahoa Parish to open three warming shelters.
Beginning at 3 p.m. Tuesday, residents can head to the gym at Kentwood High Magnet School, Amite Westside Middle School and Hammond Junior High Magnet School for shelter.
Officials say residents should bring bedding, toys for children, toiletries, medications, snacks, water and food.
