Tangipahoa Parish man dies in house fire
ROSELAND - The State Fire Marshal's office is investigating a fatal house fire in the Tangipahoa Parish community of Roseland.
Officials say when firefighters from the Roseland Volunteer Fire Department and the Amite Fire Department arrived at the scene around 4 a.m. Wednesday they found flames coming from two sides of the small two-bedroom wood frame house.
After the fire was extinguished, authorities say firefighters entered the home and found the body of 60-year-old Woodrow H. Ford Jr. in a recliner which was located in a bedroom adjacent to the kitchen.
The Tangipahoa Parish coroner's will perform an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
Firefighters believe the fire started in the kitchen.
