Tangipahoa deputies looking for suspect
HAMMOND - Sheriff's deputies in Tangipahoa Parish released a photo of a man alleged to have threatened to kill a woman and who fled from the police.
Deputies said they tried to arrest 26-year-old Leroy Johnson on December 16 after the reported threats to harm and kill a female. Deputies located and stopped Johnson, but said he resisted arrest and sped away despite two shots of pepper spray to the face.
Deputies chased after him, but the high-speed pursuit was stopped to ensure the safety of the public.
They did find his abandoned vehicle.
Johnson also has an active outstanding warrant for felony carnal knowledge of a juvenile.
