BATON ROUGE - Tangipahoa has been added to the list of parishes eligible for individual FEMA disaster assistance.
Governor Bobby Jindal made the announcement this morning.
A total of 11 parishes in South Louisiana, including Livingston and Ascension, are now eligible for individual assistance. FEMA says $10 million in aid has already been approved for residents impacted by Hurricane Isaac.
More than 117,000 individuals and families have registered for assistance. People living in eligible parishes can register at DisasterAssistance.gov or by calling 1-800-621-3362.
Registering by phone is available from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. seven days a week.
