Tangi council sets hearing on liquor sales

The Tangipahoa Parish Council plans a public hearing on proposals to change its regulations on early morning sales of alcoholic beverages.

One proposal would keep the ban on sale of alcohol from 2 a.m. to 6 a.m. daily, with some wording changes.

The other would allow alcohol sales to continue until 4 a.m.

Both of the proposed ordinances approved for introduction would affect only the sale of alcohol within unincorporated areas of the parish.

The hearings on the two proposals are scheduled for March 22 at the Tangipahoa Parish Council chambers in Amite.
