BATON ROUGE - College baseball fans from all over the U. S. set up at LSU's Alex Box Stadium this afternoon for the kickoff of the Baton Rouge Regional tournament.
Tailgaters came out to the pre-game in style by setting up tents and trailers bright and early Friday morning, though some started their preparations Thursday night.
Naomi McWillie and her friends say they can tailgate with best of them, starting off Friday with food on the grill and drinks in hand.
"We're cooking sausage for lunch and tonight we'll probably have fried fish and hamburgers," said David Lemoine.
In 14 years the McWillie's say they haven't missed an LSU baseball game. Naomi hopes the Tigers go all the way to Omaha and win so she can get another championship tattoo: she has one for each LSU championship win. While she prays for them to win, she also wears special shorts for good luck.
"If I get in trouble and LSU is not doing well I always keep an extra pair of shorts in my bag in the game in case we do bad I have to go change my shorts," she said.
A total of 64 teams will play in the NCAA post-season tournament, in 16 regional tourneys. The winner of each regional will advance to the Super Regionals, which LSU will to host if they're victorious this weekend.
