Swin flu spreads, vaccines low
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says swine flu is rampant in 41 states, including the deaths of children, 86 so far this year. The CDC also warned because of production delays, vaccine supplies will be even more scarce than expected through this month. Delays in manufacuring the vaccine mean 28 million to 30 million doses will be divided around the country. It's not the 40 million-plus states had been expecting. It means anxiously awaited swine flu shots in some parts of the country have to be postponed. Right now, the CDC says about 6 percent of doctors visits are for flu-like symtoms and those levels are not normally seen until much later in the fall and winter.
