Sweet tooth leads to prison
BOGOTA, COLOMBIA- A self-declared chocolate addict who admits stealing two boxes of candy bars got a stiff sentence for being a candy junkie.
Luis Augusto Mora got five months in one of Colombia's harshest prisons and the candy bars were worth just $8.
The hard time caught the attention of Colombia's president.
Juan Manuel Santo said in a radio interview misdemeanors like Mora's shouldn't waste prosecutors' time and effort.
The prosecutors in the case countered with a statement saying Mora expressed regret.
Mora says he'll "never again touch a chocolate in my life."
