Swamp People to return to Independence for filming
INDEPENDENCE, La. - The History Channel's popular reality television show, "Swamp People," will return to Independence in September to film at Mama Mannino's Meat Market and White Tail Butcher Shop.
Shop owner Angelo Mannino confirmed the details Thursday.
Mannino says History Channel officials have been on him "hot and heavy" over the past few weeks about the filming and says five to 10 episodes could be filmed, but he was unsure how much of it would actually be shown. He says the footage would run during February or March.
Film crews were also in Independence in March to film at Mama Mannino's.
Mannino says the exposure has been great for business. He says hunters and others say they recognize him from the show.
