BATON ROUGE- Authorities responded to the McDonalds on Florida Boulevard at Wooddale Drive after a car drove through the lobby early Thursday morning.

The wreck happened a little after 5 a.m. According to franchise owner John Valluzzo, EMS took the driver of the vehicle away shortly after the crash.

A towtruck arrived on scene around 6:30 a.m. to take the vehicle out of the building. 

Valluzzo said he hopes to have the restaurant open by 9 a.m.

"We will be a drive-thru only until we get this damage repaired, which will take several days but we will be back open for business today," said Valluzzo.
