BATON ROUGE – The Chaneyville-area home of the man suspected of killing four people in a rampage related to domestic violence last weekend burned overnight, WBRZ has learned.

Taurus Hamilton, who was arrested in Alabama last week, is accused in the deaths of Laquan Whitfield, Gerald Parker, and Gerald Tate in a home on Plank Road inside East Feliciana and just across the EBR parish line a week ago. Hamilton is also accused of shooting and killing Chris Price around the same time at a nearby gas station in Zachary.

A few days ago, Hamilton was returned to Louisiana from Alabama where he was arrested with his mother, Belinda Hamilton. The elder Hamilton is accused of helping her son escape to Tuscaloosa after the killing-spree.

Taurus Hamilton's trailer home at 23533 Burrell Road was destroyed by a fire labeled “suspicious” by the fire department. No one was home at the time of the blaze, authorities said.

The community fire department, Chaneyville, is working with both Baton Rouge Fire investigators and sheriff's deputies, sources told WBRZ Monday morning.
