Suspicious apartment fire under investigation
BATON ROUGE - Investigators are looking into an apartment fire started under suspicious circumstances, according to the St. George Fire Department.
Spokesperson Eldon Ledoux said firefighters went out to the fire at a vacant four-plex on Rush Avenue and found fire and smoke coming from a downstairs unit.
The fire was brought under control in ten minutes, and investigators said they found the building completely unoccupied with no utilities connected.
Fire investigators at the scene said the fire was of "suspicious origin" and they're working to determine the specific cause at this time.
