Suspects wanted for credit card theft in Baton Rouge
BATON ROUGE- Police in Baton Rouge are asking for your help in identifying suspects wanted for credit card theft.
Detectives say the individuals were seen on surveillance video, inside an area Walmart on November 3 around 6:24 a.m. making purchases with a stolen credit card.
They say the credit card was taken from a home in the 11800 block of Parkmount Drive, while the elderly homeowners were sleeping.
They entered the home in the middle of the night through a side garage door, breaking the door knob into pieces. The thieves jimmied a lock on a gun cabinet, just feet from the homeowner's bedroom.
Two guns were also taken, one that had been in the family for generations.
"I don't know how long they were here, but they were here long enough to get a few things that were pretty valuable," said the homeowner's son-in-law. "It's kind of scary to think what could have happened."
On the way out, the thieves also grabbed the homeowner's purse.
The homeowners say it was a close call and they're thankful the thieves didn't take anything else.
"The value of life and the fact that nobody was harmed is hugely important," said a family member.
Anyone with any information on the identity or the whereabouts of these two men, is urged to call Baton Rouge Police.
