A man suspected in the slayings of three women in Baton Rouge is asking a judge to reduce the 50-year sentence he received last month in the attack of a Lafayette woman.
Jeffery Lee Guillory's attorney argues that the 50-year-term is excessive.
Guillory was convicted of attempted second-degree murder and second-degree robbery in a December 2007 attack on Johnnie Rose Martinez.
Guillory was arrested on Dec. 16 in the slayings of three women between 1999 and 2002 in Baton Rouge.
