The U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force arrested Aramis Jackson, the suspect in the Beauregard Town home invasion/murder from last Friday, at a residence in Violet, Louisiana Tuesday morning.
Baton Rouge Police say they received a tip that Aramis Jackson fled to the New Orleans area where he was located at an acquaintances house.
He has been booked in St. Bernard Parish and will be returned to Baton Rouge sometime later today.
He is wanted for the murder of 42-year-old Alexandra Engler and the shooting of her 9-year-old daughter, Ariana, at their home on Beauregard Street.
Earlier this morning, tactical teams from the Baton Rouge Police Department and the East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office searched three homes in connection with the killing. Those homes were on Arizona St., Royal St. and Myrtle Ave. in Baton Rouge.
Jackson became a suspect after the Louisiana State Police Crime Lab linked him to DNA evidence found at the crime scene.
Sgt. Don Kelly with BRPD says police are looking for a second suspect, but the suspect has not been identified yet.
