Suspect wanted in New Iberia murder turns himself in
NEW IBERIA - Detectives have reported that a man wanted in connection with a New Iberia murder over the weekend turned himself in to authorities Monday.
The Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office issued a warrant for the arrest of 23-year-old Alex Arceneaux Jr. following the incident that happened just after midnight Sunday morning.
Deputies identified the murder victim as a 37-year-old man.
Arceneaux was taken into custody without incident, and now faces a second-degree murder charge. The investigation by detectives into that murder is ongoing.
