Suspect sought in morning armed robbery in New Iberia
NEW IBERIA – Authorities are searching for a suspect in connection to an armed robbery of a New Iberia bank Thursday morning.
Deputies with the Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office said that shortly before 10 a.m. Thursday, a man walked into an Iberia Bank at 142 W. St. Peter Street brandishing a handgun and demanding cash.
After employees gave the man an undisclosed amount of money, deputies said he fled the area on foot.
Deputies described the suspect as a black male, wearing a navy hooded jacket or sweatshirt and sunglasses.
