Suspect named in Assumption Parish shooting
THIBODAUX - Sheriff's deputies named a suspect Monday in a recent attempted murder in Assumption Parish.
Sheriff Mike Waguespack said Floyd Robertson, 19, of Thibodaux was the person responsible for the Nov. 24 shooting. The sheriff said deputies had a warrant for his arrest on charges of attempted second-degree murder and being a felon in possession of a firearm.
Deputies said on Nov. 24 a person with a gunshot wound in their chest was brought to the emergency room at Assumption Community Hospital. He was stabilized and sent to Thibodaux Regional Medical Center for surgery. Deputies said investigators later determined Robertson was the shooter.
Anyone with information about this shooting or Robertson's whereabouts should call the APSO Criminal Investigative Division at (985) 526-1627 or the Communications Division at (985) 369-2912.
