Suspect injured in shootout with deputies
NEW ORLEANS - NOPD is investigating a shooting involving a Jefferson Parish Sheriff's deputy.
The incident happened just before 12:30 a.m. Thursday. Investigators say deputies were serving a search warrant on Pauger Street. According to our sister station WWL-TV, a spokesperson said the 52-year-old male suspect opened fire when deputies breached the door.
Officers returned fire, hitting the man in the lower leg. He was brought to a nearby hospital to be treated for his injuries.
