Suspect in feticide case pleads insanity
LIVINGSTON PARISH - The man accused of cutting his unborn child from his wife's womb changed his plea in court today.
Represented by a new lawyer, Jeffery Reynolds entered a plea of not guilty by reason of insanity.
Reynolds faces feticide charges for the attack in October 2012. His wife survived, their unborn child did not.
Back in January, Reynolds admitted to smoking synthetic weed. While leaving court today, Reynolds told News 2 more details about what he did prior to the attack.
"The product was called WTF, manufactured by Mr. Nice Guy," he explained. "I ordered it on the Internet, and it came in my mailbox, it was guaranteed to be 50-state legal."
Reynolds will have a sanity hearing in June.
