BATON ROUGE - Police released the name of a man wanted in Baton Rouge for armed robbery and aggravated rape.

Cpl. Tommy Stubbs said investigators were looking for Tyrone Lentrell Pope, 20, in connection with an incident early Saturday morning.

Stubbs said just after midnight on March 23 a man and woman were confronted in the 1700 block of Stilt Street by a man with a gun. Stubbs said he robbed both victims and raped the female, and then a second person arrived and also raped the female while his accomplice held both victims at gunpoint.

Detectives said one of the suspects was identified as Pope, but they have not identified the second suspect. They said he's described as a black male with dark complexion in his mid-20's, 5'8" to 5'9" and weighing about 200 pounds.

Anyone with information on Pope's whereabouts or the identity of his accomplice should call the BRPD Sex Crimes Division at (225) 389-3853.
