Baton Rouge police say an arrest warrant has been issued for a Metairie man in the Jan. 31 fatal hit-and-run accident on Interstate 10 near College Drive.
L' Jean McKneely, a police spokesman, says 33-year-old Christian J. Cvitanovich is wanted in the death of 20-year-old Mikel Carson of Hammond.
When taken into custody, McKneely said Cvitanovick will be booked on one count each of negligent homicide, felony hit-and-run, and reckless operation of a vehicle.
Police said Carson was struck and killed while walking along I-10 to check on another woman involved in an unrelated vehicle crash.
