Suspect charged with second-degree murder after stabbing on Lorraine Street

BATON ROUGE- Authorities say one person is in dead after a reported stabbing occurred Sunday evening.

According to the Baton Rouge Police Department, the incident happened around 7 p.m. in the 4900 block of Lorraine Street.

The victim, Benjamin McKeel, was transported to a local hospital in critical condition. He later died from his injuries.

Authorities arrested Katrice Belezaire, 34, in connection to the stabbing. It is believed that the stabbing was a result of a verbal altercation between Belezaire and McKeel.

Belezaire is charged with second-degree murder.
