Suspect arrested in 2011 fatal wreck
HOUMA - A 28-year-old Larose man accused of causing a fatal wreck in Galliano in 2011 has been arrested in Florida.
State police say Edward Farbe turned into the path of an oncoming pickup attempting to turn from La. 3235 into the Wal-Mart parking lot on Aug. 27, 2011, and bailed out of the crashed truck, leaving behind his injured passengers.
Troopers say 40-year-old Louis Guidry, who was riding in the front passenger seat, sustained critical injuries and died later at a hospital.
Farbe was arrested on unrelated charges in Jacksonville, Fla., over the weekend.
Farbe faces charges of negligent homicide, negligent injuring, hit-and-run driving and failure to yield while turning left. He is jailed in Florida while arrangements are made to extradite him to Lafourche Parish.
