A lawyer in California, who was a respected reproductive law specialist, got five months in prison for a baby-selling scheme. Theresa Erickson also faces nine-months home confinement when she gets out and a $70,000 fine. They say she sent U.S. surrogates to the Ukraine to be implanted with sperm and embryos from anonymous donors. Aspiring parents thought they were adopting legally.
