Superfest stars shine bright at CMA's
BATON ROUGE - Bayou Country Superfest organizers released their official talent lineup for the 2015 festival Wednesday morning. That night, some of the stars coming to Baton Rouge shined bright at the Country Music Association Awards.
One of the brightest last night was Miranda Lambert. She opened the night by performing "All About that Bass" with pop-star Meghan Trainor, then went on to win four more CMA trophies, giving her 11 total.. That makes her the most decorated female artist in the history of country music. Among those wins, her fifth consecutive as female vocalist of the year. That breaks a tie with Reba McEntire and Martina McBride for the most consecutive wins in that category.
Lambert is scheduled to perform on Sunday night at Bayou Country Country Superfest, along with husband Blake Shelton. He took home the award for male vocalist of the year.
Kenny Chesney, who headlines Saturday night, also performed during the show open. He's returning to Baton Rouge for the first time in three years.
The top award Wednesday night went to Luke Bryan. He was named Entertainer of the Year after selling more than two million copies of his 2013 album. Bryan performed at the festival each of the past two years.
