Super Bowl could be back in New Orleans in 2018
NEW ORLEANS - Could the Super Bowl be coming back to Louisiana? NFL owners should decide today.
New Orleans is a finalist for Super Bowl LII in 2018, along with Minneapolis and Indianapolis. The Crescent City is considered the favorite to win the bid, largely because of its warm weather, booming tourism industry and the city's tri-centennial celebration scheduled for that year.
Experts say it would be a "major upset" if New Orleans is not chosen. Minneapolis is seen as the biggest competition, largely because the Vikings will have just opened a new stadium, and owners typically like to reward cities that build new stadiums.
If New Orleans receives the bid again, it would be the eleventh time that the game had been held here. That is the most of any city in the country.
