BATON ROUGE - The Southern University faculty and students are learning more about the university's financial emergency today.
Faculty members are holding a meeting at this hour to ask questions and give suggestions as the university tries to pull itself out of a financial crisis.
Meanwhile, the school's chancellor is meeting with students to answer their questions as well.
Last week the system board voted to declare a financial emergency that allows the Baton Rouge campus to handle drastic financial decisions without the board's permission.
We will have more on what came out of the meeting later today on News 2.
