SU's head football coach considered for another job
BATON ROUGE- Southern University's successful head football coach is being considered for another job, the WBRZ News 2 sports team learned exclusively Wednesday night.
Dawson Odums is being sought by his Alma matter, North Carolina Central University. The school wants him to become its new head coach. The position became vacant this football season.
Following Odums' 9-4 season, administrators at the college in North Carolina asked SU Athletic Director William Broussard for permission to talk with the coach, which was granted.
"Certainly, after the season the Jaguars had, you had to think someone would like Dawson Odums on their staff," WBRZ Sports Director Michael Cauble said.
Odums has not commented on the situation.
