BATON ROUGE - Officials say a Southern University police officer accused of pointing a gun at someone three times following an argument earlier this month has resigned.
The Advocate reports 29-year-old Randolph Jehucal Harrell was booked July 14 with aggravated assault.
According to an arrest warrant, Harrell and the victim got into an argument when the victim was at an audio store having work done to his vehicle.
The victim said Harrell left the scene but returned a short time along with another man.
The arrest warrant says Harrell pointed a dark-colored handgun at the victim while the other man pointed what looked like an AK-47 assault rifle at him.
Harrell, who has been with the university police department since April 2, resigned from his job Wednesday.
