BATON ROUGE - A new study found people taking the antiobiotic azithromycin, more commonly known as Z-pack, were more likely to die from heart problems such as stroke, heart attacks, or similar conditions.
The study's authors say doctors often prescribe Z-pack instead of the antibiotic amoxycillin because it's easier to take, requiring less pills over fewer days. The two medications work differently, but are both used to fight off bacterial infections.
News 2's Sarah Rosario gets answers on how doctors in Baton Rouge are reacting to the news, and what they're telling patients. That story's tonight on News 2 at 5.
