BATON ROUGE - An LSU student has been arrested in connection with an attack and robbery on another student this weekend.
According to Sgt. Blake Tabor with LSU Police, 20-year-old Camden Marcotte turned himself in today in connection with the attack early Sunday morning.
Police said Marcotte ran up behind an 18-year-old female student and hit her, then ran away. The victim had minor scratches and bruises, and university officials sent out a campus-wide alert after the incident.
Tabor said Marcotte is a sophomore from Massachusetts, and robbery is believed to have been a motive. A necklace the victim was wearing was missing after the attack, and was later found at the scene.
Marcotte was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish jail in suspicion of simple burglary.
