Maclaren voluntarily recalled 1 million umbrella strollers sold in the U.S. because of safety concerns.
The company web site says the strollers pose "fingertip amputation and laceration hazard to the child when the consumer is unfolding/opening the stroller."
The affected models include Volo, Triumph, Quest Sport, Quest Mod, Techno XT, Techno XLR, Twin Triumph, Twin Techno and Easy Traveller.
Parents using Maclaren strollers can order a safety kit from the company.
It contains hinge covers designed to fit all Maclaren strollers.
