Streets, yards flood after storm rolls through EBR
BAKER - Heavy Mardi Gras rains left behind flooded streets and yards around Zachary and Baker today.
Homeowners on Rue Shaylyn in Baker said they were trapped in their homes after water backed up two to three feet deep in their neighborhood.
Dominique Edmond said water often backs up and floods the street, but never this bad. He said he's asked the city to do something about the drainage, but hasn't had any luck.
"What would happen if we had a medical emergency, if my wife had to go to the hospital?" he said.
Streets and parking lots in Zachary also flooded as the storms moved through, possibly dumping more than two inches of rain in a short time.
News 2 crews are in the area and will have more on situation tonight on News 2 at 10.
