A kitten survived a trip in a cargo container on a ship for the passage from Shanghai to Los Angeles. That's about 6,500 miles without food or water. The kitten was retrieved from the container at a business it was delivered to in the Los Angeles area. The kitten is orange and white and was named Ni Hao, which means hello in Chinese. The cat was taken to animal control where it was said to have slept and ate well and woke up responsive and alert. The kitten is quarantined, which is the procedure for animals that enter the U.S. from foreign countries. When Ni Hao recovers, he'll get his shots and be fixed and the shelter will look for a permanent home.
