A tornado smashed some houses north of Tallulah to sticks and bricks, and tore walls or roofs from others.
But residents say they're ready to rebuild, as soon as the insurance adjusters sign off.
Minutes after the tornado wiped out a dozen houses and did major damage to many more, people who live on Willow Bayou Road were hauling branches from roofs of the houses still standing, and salvaging what they could from the others.
Christy Shelton and her family went into the hallway of her mother's brick house when the walls began shaking, but the twister lifted the roof. Her head was scratched and her daughter suffered a bone bruise, but nobody else was hurt.
Shelton says they'll start over - "That's all we can do."
