Stolen weapons and drugs seized in arrest

BATON ROUGE - Narcotics agents arrested a man today they said was found with drugs and several stolen weapons, including an assault rifle.

Chief Mike Knaps with Baker Police said officers arrested David Dewayne Hughes today after a raid at his home on Blount Road.

Knaps said inside the home officers found six firearms, dozens of pills, marijuana and two scales. He said five of the weapons were stolen, including an SKS assault rifle with a high-capacity magazine.

Knaps said Hughes is a convicted felon, and was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish jail in suspicion of numerous drug and weapons charges.
