BATON ROUGE - The owner of a 60-year-old marble statue of Jesus said it was found near a Baton Rouge nightclub early Thanksgiving morning.
Shelly Roy with Roselawn Monuments said police informed him the statue had been found near the business on Highland Road around 2:30 a.m. Thursday.
The statue, which was stolen last weekend and valued at around $15,000, didn't appear to be damaged.
Police are still investigating who hauled off the 500-pound statue, and how it wound up in front of the club.
