Governor talks tax plan, doesn't elaborate
BATON ROUGE- Governor Bobby Jindal talked about his plan to cut state income taxes Thursday, but didn't elaborate on specific details.
Jindal plans to have a proposal ready for the upcoming annual meeting of lawmakers in Louisiana.
He said while there is no concrete plan yet, he has been meeting with legislators and discussing various options.
Some are concerned sales taxes will be increased and that low-income citizens would lose benefits that assist with paying current income taxes. About that, Jindal said there are ways to protect "vulnerable populations to make sure they're not made worse off."
