State Police release dash footage of Camp Minden explosion
MINDEN - Louisiana State Police have released dash camera footage that shows the moment an explosion at Camp Minden occurred.
Police shared the video on their Facebook page, explaining that "Although this explosion looks significant in this video, it was much smaller than the one in 2012 and the earth covered storage bunker did exactly what it was designed to do, which is what ultimately minimized the damaged caused by this blast."
The blast occured around 5 a.m. Thursday morning. Hazmat crews determined that "Clean Burning Ignitor" auto-ignited inside a bunker it was being stored in. No one was working in that area at the time of the explosion.
