State orders changes for 3 more EBR bridges
BATON ROUGE- The state has ordered action on three more bridges in East Baton Rouge Parish.
The parish's single road crew had to be pulled from repairs on the North Flannery Road bridge to address the new concerns.
Load limits were lowered for bridges on Carey Road, Firewood Drive and O'Neal Lane after the state noticed safety problems during routine inspections.
The city-parish has one week to submit repair plans.
The North Flannery Road bridge over Lively Bayou was closed last week after state inspectors found critical deficiencies with the support. Parish leaders say the problems at the new sites are not as severe.
