BATON ROUGE - Federal permits will no longer be required on two wildlife management areas in Leesville.

Louisiana hunting licenses will still be needed to hunt at Fort Polk and Peason Ridge wildlife management areas. The license includes an annual $15 permit to hunt in state wildlife areas and must fill out a self-clearing permit. The self-clearing permits are for everything from hunting to sightseeing and bird watching.

Archery and small game hunters using barracks within the wildlife areas will still need visitor passes to get through security gates.
