State has new ally in battle against arsonists
BATON ROUGE - The state's battle against fire bugs is going to the dogs.
The State Marshall will introduce Billy the Dog Thursday. He is trained to detect if accelerant was used to ignite fires.
Arson has becomes a huge problem in Baton Rouge this summer. There have been more than five cases over the past two months.
Billy underwent special training and will speed up the process of fire investigations.
