BATON ROUGE- A state audit questions $296 million in federal funds received by the state.
$285 million involves federal stimulus money for higher education.
According to the audit, the state spent the money on higher education without meeting a key component. The feds required that states fund higher on a 2006 level before using the money from Washington.
The Jindal Administration does not expect any problems.
A spokesperson says the administration worked with the U.S. Department of Education throughout this process.
They say Louisiana is one of about a dozen states asking for the waiver.
