State collects $834,000 in petroleum lease sale
BATON ROUGE- The State Mineral and Energy Board collected just over $834,000 during its April sale for petroleum rights on state and local government land and waterbottoms.
The board awarded 12 leases covering just over 2,500 acres.
Leases were sold in Calcasieu, Cameron, Plaquemines, St. Mary and Vernon parishes. Of the 12 leases, 1 was in northern Louisiana and 11 were in southern Louisiana.
