BATON ROUGE - Exxon Mobil is reporting a problem on their end with gasoline for vehicles. Testing is underway to determine what the problems are.
Drivers have reported issues with their vehicles in Baton Rouge, New Orleans, and Lafayette.
Exxon has reported the problem to the State Department of Agriculture. Exxon issued the following statement Wednesday afternoon:
"We have been made aware of a potential issue with gasoline purchased at select locations in the Baton Rouge area. Upon learning of the issue, we immediately began an investigation. We have shut down the Baton Rouge terminal gasoline loading racks while the investigation continues.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused our customers and motorists. We will continue to work with our customers and monitor the situation closely. If customers have questions or concerns regarding the fuel they may have purchased they should contact the station where they purchased the fuel."
