BATON ROUGE - Louisiana Rehabilitation Council member Jason Weill says he's concerned about security in parking garages near the Capitol.
He says others have told him about cars being vandalized and broken into. Weill says security needs to be changed before someone gets hurt or killed.
The Louisiana Department of Public Safety Capitol Detail handles security in state owned garages and lots, and numbers from the agency show only three problems over the past year. One was a purse stolen from an unlocked car parked near the arsenal museum.
The Louisiana State Police oversee the agency, and their numbers show Capitol police have made more than 200 arrests and issued nearly 2,500 traffic citations so far this year.
