Starbucks loses to Charbucks
MANCHESTER, NEW HAMPSHIRE- The maker of a coffee blend in New Hampshire it calls "Charbucks" won in trademark infringement case filed by Starbucks.
Black Bear Micro Roastery was sued in 2001 by Starbucks which alleged the use of the name "Charbucks" infringed and tarnished its famous trademarks.
A federal district court disagreed and Starbucks appealed and lost again.
Starbucks says it respects the decision but disagrees.
The company says it was asking only for an injunction against the use of "Charbucks."
The suit was originally filed in New York.
